Marketing/Event Intern
JOB SUMMARY:
- Assist with planning and executing special event weekends such as Highland Games, Wine, Chocolate & Romance, 5K Run, Woofstock, and Oktoberfest.
- Support day-of event management and logistics.
- Help manage and update social media channels with engaging content.
- Assist in preparing marketing materials, including press kits, newsletters, playbills, media kits, and press releases.
- Assist, table, and sell tickets at Festival tent during community events such as TC Pride Festival and Grand Old Days
- Coordinate advertising efforts, including trade agreements with print and broadcast media, and assist in ad production.
- Help maintain and grow relationships with current sponsors and assist in securing new sponsorships.
- Make calls to local press to pitch stories and invite media to festival events.
- Support marketing database management, trade ticket distribution, and incentive programs.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Experience in Marketing, Public Relations and Event Planning is a plus, but not required.
- Must be graduate 2025 or earlier
HOURS:
- 40 hours per week and some weekends during the Renaissance Festival August 17 - September 29 (including Labor Day).
- Additional evenings and weekend hours as required for events and duties.
- Additional hours are available in September and October, with flexibility based on event needs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Must be able to work in an outdoor festival environment, with varying weather conditions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Experience or familiarity with social media platforms, marketing tools, and event management software is a plus.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- Applicants must be flexible with their schedule, as events may require late evenings and weekend availability.
- The position offers the opportunity for hands-on experience in event planning, marketing, and public relations.
