Communications and Digital Media Specialist
The Communications and Digital Media Specialist will bring an energetic and forward-thinking perspective to ensure that Delaware has an excellent and equitable public education system that supports all Delawareans to achieve success in school and life. The communications team works with internal and external team members to advance Rodel’s goals. The primary role of this position is to advance communications efforts by, developing communications products, leading projects with coalitions and vendors, and driving analysis, strategy, and planning. Work will include our education focus areas including: early learning, teacher preparation and diversity, pathways and postsecondary success, student-centered learning, and school finance.

Rodel is a supporting organization of the Delaware Community Foundation and has worked in Delaware for more than 20 years to improve educational outcomes. Our mission is to strengthen Delaware’s public education system and workforce by connecting partners to advance and implement sustainable solutions. To do this, we:
- Convene cross-sector partners: Rodel brings partners from across the state to listen together, identify opportunities, and collaborate to advance issues we have prioritized.
- Connect good ideas to resources: Rodel highlights opportunities for national and local funders to invest in Delaware education by supporting effective partnerships and innovative programs.
- Scale, share, and support ideas grounded in evidence and practice:Rodel’s work is informed by data, national and international best practices, and the perspectives of Delawareans which, in turn, inform Rodel’s perspectives and resources

What You’ll Do
Communications and Brand Management
- Manage small- and large-scale projects while leading coalition, campaign, and initiative communications products and strategies
- Manage partner and vendor relationships to execute strategy
- Lead development of PPT decks, websites, newsletters, infographics, videos, blogs, and more
- Develop and manage project timelines and workflow
Platforms and Channels
- Maintain communications calendar of deliverables across 8 brands and social media/web/media channels
- Develop social media strategy and schedule across all brands
- Contribute to social media content, newsletters, and web copy
Research, Analytics, Measurements, Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Lead data reporting, analysis, and strategy development for online communications
- Conduct analysis of social, email, website traffic and recommend strategies to achieve organizational goals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience with social media and knowledge of best practices
- Experience with graphic design
- Detail-oriented; experience adhering to branding and style guidelines

- Video editing, compilation, and filming
- Podcast development: ideation, interviewing, filming, recording, visual and audio editing, and equipment management
- Strategy and planning
- Event and/or webinar planning and logistics
- Knowledge and interest in expanding a new CRM tool to support communication strategies
- Copyediting
- HTML/web design
- A passion for education, innovation, and a commitment to educational equity
- Experience/knowledge of government, public policy, or education issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and a strong knowledge of online and social media best practices
- Strong technical skills with the ability/affinity to learn new technology applications
- Language proficiency – Spanish and/or Haitian Creole preferred
Education/Experience
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, film or video production is required for this position. A background in lighting, composition, continuity, sound and editing is required for video and podcast content production with an understanding of story structure, screenwriting, and directing.
