Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Communications and Marketing in the Graduate School and International Education will assist in the communication and marketing efforts for the unit. The graduate assistant will serve as a general communications specialist for the office, with duties including but not limited to: 
• Writing news stories, including interviewing subjects and posting to Arkansas NEWS; 
• Assisting in gathering and evaluating marketing-related data;
• Assisting in web projects, including development and maintenance of webpages and other web-related projects;
• Assist with GSIE social media accounts, including brainstorming ideas for content and posting on accounts;
• Other duties as assigned. 

The chosen candidate should be highly organized with strong attention to detail. 
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. The Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours a week.

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in communications, journalism or related field

Must have an earned bachelor's from an accredited institution

Must be admitted to a graduate program at the University of Arkansas

Experience with web development, graphic design, and news writing is strongly preferred

Experience using social media as a communications tool for organizations
