POLICY INTERN
The EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases is a science-based nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy organization dedicated to bringing treatments to over 30 million Americans with rare diseases. The Foundation works with patient advocates, lawmakers, industry, academic scientists, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance the equitable development of and access to lifesaving diagnoses, treatments, and cures.
As a member of the Policy team, you will work to support the Foundation’s legislative and regulatory policy initiatives and events. This work will entail working closely with staff at the Foundation as well as rare disease patients and other community stakeholders.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in federal legislative tracking and analysis;
- Support policy research in areas such as newborn screening, genetic testing and access policy;
- Attend hearings or other Congressional briefings and produce memos;
- Assist in the coordination of the Newborn Screening Bootcamp live and virtual event;
- Assist in preparing advocacy materials for advocates and Members of Congress;
- Assist in updating policy related website pages;
- Assist in providing support for Community Congress meetings;
- Provide administrative support to policy and advocacy team via Salesforce; and
- Other duties as assigned.
This paid internship will be 15 hours per week from early May through the end of August. The location for this position is flexible and can be either based in Washington, D.C. or remote.
