Paid Internship with Progressive Political Ad Firm
A|L Media’s award-winning team offers an internship for aspiring political professionals who want to jumpstart their careers with real-world political experience, or who want to apply their hard skills toward advancing progressive politics. A|L interns assist in work across the firm such as copywriting, research, competitive ad tracking, data analysis, and ad performance reporting. Candidates should be able to commit to at least 12 hours of work per week for 10+ weeks. All internships are paid hourly in addition to potential course credit awarded by your school (if applicable), and all internship work will be done remotely. Hourly wage will vary based on your geographical location.

Internship Opportunities
Account Management Internship
Account interns will serve in a support role facilitating the project management lead for various clients nationwide. Responsibilities include tracking media affairs to assist senior staff with campaign strategy, messaging, and research, as well as drafting communications materials such as ad copy, Q&A for media prep, and talking points. The role also involves contributing to creative concepts and scripting for television, radio, and digital advertising, and managing communications among production, media buying, and senior staff to ensure timely and professional client deliverables. This internship is best suited for candidates pursuing or who have secured a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, History, Journalism, or a related field.
Media Buying Internship
Media Buying interns will serve in a support role to help facilitate our work to draft and execute financial budgets and ad buying on behalf of clients across the country. Responsibilities include working across TV, Radio, and Digital ad programs. Projects may involve gathering media pricing, generating ad buy reports, reviewing the set-up of digital advertising campaigns and creatives across various platforms, and/or monitoring client campaign progress. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and while interest in or a concentrated focus on studies in politics is a plus, it is not mandatory. This internship is best suited for candidates pursuing or who have secured a bachelor’s degree in Account, Finance, Digital Marketing, or a related field of study.
Competitive Internship
Competitive interns will serve in a support role to track political ad spending across key political races across the country, ranging from federal to statewide to caucus campaigns. This role involves reviewing and helping assemble daily to weekly reports to ensure accuracy and provide detailed summaries of ad content while identifying any trends or messaging details worth highlighting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, superb organizational abilities, and deep experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. This internship is best suited for candidates pursuing or who have secured a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Production Internship
Production interns will serve in a support role in creative concepting; researching, tracking and assembling creative assets; and performing quality control by reviewing ad scripts and creative files before they go through the finishing process. This internship is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience contributing to dynamic and collaborative creative projects. This internship is best suited for candidates pursuing or who have secured a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Production, Film, or a related field.
Software Development Internship
Software Development interns will serve in a support role to research coding solutions, review, test, and provide quality assurance for our lead Software Developer for a proprietary software tool. This internship requires experience in PHP, React, jQuery, JavaScript, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other relevant technologies. Intern candidates will have the opportunity to work on real projects, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions. This internship is best suited for candidates pursuing or who have secured a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Software Development, or a related field.
