Sustainability Internship - Outreach & Engagement
The Lincoln Public Schools Sustainability Department is looking for a passionate individual to join our team. LPS Sustainability coordinates district-wide environmental programs and provides support for green school activities.This internship will be specifically focused on outreach and engagement.
Sample Internship Tasks:
- Develop content for social media, monthly newsletters, website and other communications channels
- Represent LPS Sustainability at school and community outreach events
- Provide presentations to school and community groups as requested
- Support planning and promotion of LPS Sustainability-hosted events
- Support and promote the Green Schools Recognition Program
Desired Skills & Experience
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, Google Drive, and Canva
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with AP style guidelines and graphic design best practices
Prefer applicants currently pursuing a degree in a related field including, but not limited to: Agricultural and environmental sciences communication, communication studies, environmental education, environmental science, environmental and sustainability studies, etc.
This is a paid position, starting at $15.63/hour. Applicants must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Applicants should have availability for 15 hours/week between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Internship will begin in May 2025. The end date will be flexible depending on the candidate.
