Graduate/Undergrad Public Relations Intern
Job Posting: Graduate or Undergraduate Public Relations Intern (Part-Time) – 3-month term with the possibility for extension
About Us:
Cogensus is a healthcare technology startup focused on elder mental health monitoring and wellness, facilitated by AI and natural language processing (NLP). We are currently conducting an early-stage funding round.
Our team has deep talent with experience including Accenture, Amazon, Facebook, United Nations, UCLA (clinical research and practice), Medtronic, and multiple prior startups.
Role Overview:
We seek a Public Relations Intern to generate positive attention for our startup among the public, healthcare, and investor community.
We will start with a 3-month term. Based upon initial performance, we are open to expanding role length, responsibilities, and compensation.
Responsibilities:
· Identify and assess opportunities for us to be featured on 3rd party media entities (publications, podcasts, etc.)
· Engage 3rd party media entities on behalf of Cogensus to identify their requirements and requests for featuring us.
· Run our social media campaign (LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky)
· Advise the Chief of Staff to the CEO about media-related engagement opportunities with relevant healthcare, tech, etc. entities/personalities of interest.
Qualifications:
Required:
· US work authorization
· Currently a graduate or undergraduate student with experience in Communications, Journalism, Healthcare Management, or a similar program.
· Prior production of media work in English (e.g., NY Times submission, college newspaper, Substack, etc.).
· Familiarity with the landscape among traditional, paid, and earned media.
· Interest in the intersection of healthcare, technology, business, and media.
Preferred: These are beneficial qualifications, but we are open to hiring someone without the following experience.
· Experience or academic work involving healthcare tech
· Understanding of elder mental health issues
· Prior engagement in the startup space
· Prior engagement with the medical devices space
· Prior experience with a non-profit or government entity involved in elder care
Compensation:
· $500 a month
· Equity in Cogensus (amount is dependent on scope and quality of work)
