Chief of Staff

SISU is seeking a Chief of Staff to join our growing team. We’re looking for a highly organized and efficient candidate to maximize business efficiencies, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to client communications projects. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

SISU is a creative communications consultancy serving venture capital firms and startups. The firm was founded in 2023 by Jenna Birch, a former journalist and veteran communications executive at venture capital firms in Silicon Valley. She is the former Head of Content & Communications at Forerunner, as well as the VP, Narrative & Communications at NFX. The consultancy serves top venture capital firms and early-stage startups. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most influential voices in tech, and grow your role in a direction that benefits both the firm and your passions. This role is remote, with occasional on-the-ground assistance in Ann Arbor, MI. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the Founder and internal team members, clients, and external stakeholders;
  • Manage the Founder's calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements; support the Head of Research on scheduling and admin work;
  • Oversee and execute administrative tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations;
  • Create and manage internal documents, like prep docs for journalists, key stakeholder rolodexes, and transcripts;
  • Assist the Head of Research in the preparation of client messaging guides, reports, and client deliverables;
  • Draft and edit various forms of communication, including emails, memos, social posts, and reports;
  • Assist in developing and implementing processes to improve operational efficiency;
  • Run errands and support the Founder in on-the-ground activities, as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in Communications, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar admin role or in the communications/tech industry;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite and project management tools;
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and as an active part of a remote team;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Maximum discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
