Public Relations Account Coordinator

The Public Relations Account Coordinator will assist their designated public relations team in the performance of their job duties such as developing media lists, drafting agendas, and creating reports. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Media List Management: Build and maintain targeted media lists customized to clients and industries.
  • Client Communication: Interact professionally with clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings, ensuring effective communication.
  • Report Generation: Create biweekly, monthly, and wrap reports for multiple client accounts, providing valuable insights.
  • Media Monitoring: Monitor media coverage for all clients and prepare accurate and timely press reports on a daily basis.
  • Coverage Analysis: Interpret and analyze media coverage to provide clients with insights into their return on investment (ROI).
  • Event Coordination: Assist in implementing media or special events by building lists, managing media check-ins, and handling RSVPs.
  • Meeting Coordination: Coordinate meetings for clients and team members, ensuring seamless logistics; Draft agendas and recaps for all client meetings and calls to facilitate smooth communication and documentation.
  • Written Materials: Draft press releases, social media posts, and other PR and marketing materials under supervision.
  • Event Tracking: Maintain lists of upcoming events for clients, helping them stay informed.
  • TV Segment Attendance: Attend TV segments for clients as required.
  • Intern Management: Manage interns and serve as a mentor each semester, providing guidance and support.
  • Time Tracking: Accurately track time on a daily basis to ensure efficient project management.
  • Intern Mentorship: Manage the workflow of interns and act as a mentor each semester, offering guidance and support.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Writing Skills: Possess fundamental writing, editing, organization, and proofreading skills.
  • Organization: Effective organizational skills, including multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey project statuses to supervisors.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using appropriate software such as Muck Rack, Google Suite, etc.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Research: Understand and utilize research techniques effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Work to understand the client’s industry, terminology, and competitive landscape.
  • Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, demonstrating a strong educational foundation relevant to the role.
  • Agency Experience: Have a minimum of one (1) year of agency experience, which may include internship experience.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical Demands: Sitting 85% of the time, standing 15% of the time.
  • Working Hours: Typically, work hours are from 9:00 AM CST to 6:00 PM CST, Mondays through Fridays. Availability to work as needed on nights and weekends may be required.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. as necessary.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands and fingers for computer use.
  • Sensory Function: Everyday use of vision and auditory senses, including exposure to blue light from computers.
  • Environment: Work primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting. However, occasional travel and the ability to work in-office and on-site for client related meetings and events may be necessary.
  • Communication: Daily communication with peers, media, and clients is essential to the role.
  • Cognitive Demands: Ability to maintain cognitive thinking and logical reasoning throughout tasks and responsibilities.
