LOCATION: Caliber provides a remote workplace model with access to co-working office space in the US for employees who would like a change of scenery or an opportunity to meet with local colleagues. Please note: we are not considering non US-based applicants.

About Caliber:

Caliber is a strategic marketing communications firm that helps companies tell their story and connect with key stakeholders. We partner with established industry leaders and rising entrepreneurial organizations within financial services, financial technology (fintech), insurance technology (insurtech), and property technology (proptech).

About the Role:

Caliber is looking for one PR enthusiast to join our team as a Grad Associate for summer 2024. The Grad Program will host the Grad Associate for a paid 3-month intensive public relations/marketing training program focused on the financial services, fintech, insurtech, and proptech industries with the goal of helping clients tell their stories in industries that are often complex and rapidly changing.

The Grad Associate will work full-time, have the opportunity to be hands-on with client work, attend weekly learning sessions, and participate in other educational and social activities.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop a better understanding of PR as well as our industries of focus -  financial services, fintech, insurtech and proptech. Upon completion of the 3-month program, the Grad Associate will be reviewed and considered for their potential to join the team as a full-time Account Coordinator.

Our team represents a talented and inclusive workforce. If you're looking to work with a supportive team of PR pros who value flexing their creative muscles while producing excellent work (and having fun at the same time) - check us out!

The right candidate will thrive in a mid-sized agency environment where they will be part of a growing team in a fast-paced and supportive work environment.

  • The paid program will run mid-June through mid-September
  • Candidates must be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm ET
  • Hourly rate: $17 per hour

About your responsibilities

You will be welcomed as an entry-level communications pro, serving as support across a group of accounts, coordinating directly with your account teams, and also working on value-add projects across the agency, including:

  • Compiling, researching, and managing media lists across broadcast, podcast, online and print media outlets
  • Pitching targeted media on assigned clients and coordinating ownership of specific pitches with account lead(s)
  • Developing briefing materials for media interviews
  • Drafting and editing social media posts
  • Compiling and managing awards, events & speaking opportunity lists
  • Preparing and managing reporting and metrics for clients, in partnership with the account team
  • Compiling and reviewing client reports, including analyzing communications and media metrics
  • Meeting deadlines and ensuring proper communication with the internal team
  • Supporting the team on overarching client needs, by stepping up for any projects that may arise outside of your client group

About Our Ideal Candidate

  • Recent college graduate who is interested in beginning a career in public relations/marketing
  • Strong acumen across Google products and Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Intellectual curiosity about businesses and how strategic marketing communications plays a role in a business’ growth
  • Though not required, an enthusiasm for fintech and financial services
  • Solutions oriented with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Passionate communicator with great presentation skills
  • Team player, supportive and considerate of others
  • A student of the media – identifying new publications, writers and relevant topics
  • Prior internship experience is a plus
