ABOUT US
500 Acres is a nonprofit foundation reviving America's tradition of building together. We train young people to design and fabricate affordable homes, steward land, grow food, and document the work — turning Idaho endowment land into glamping sites, real revenue, and a path to ownership for the next generation. Our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, named an Ivory Prize candidate for affordable housing innovation, and is the subject of a Story & Pixel documentary now in production, premiering Spring 2027.
FELLOWSHIP OVERVIEW
We train young people to build affordable homes, grow food, and repair communities — reviving America's tradition of building together.
If you're 18–25 and curious about what it takes to design a house, survey land with drones and robots, document how young people, local communities, and technology are rebuilding rural America, or earn an ownership stake in the land you're helping build on — our fellowships are built for you. Join us at Yellowstone this summer. Learn from architects, builders, ranchers, marketers, investors, and local community leaders. Some fellows stay on full-time.
